edelbrock performer airgap and carb. 355 chevy with 10:1 , 58 cc world sr torquer heads, the cam is in the .470 area. Eagle one-piece main seal crank ( guess what, they're 5 lbs lighter than stock, and they don't advertise that.) Eagle rods. ( they're lighter too) speedpro hyperutectic flatops.
The mallory distributor is only being used for the magnetic pickup.. no electronics in it, and i've used 3 of these with zero issue. The motor runs great until you put an extended load on it.... so something's overheating or sticking.....or something... we took apart the edelbrock again tonight cleaned and checked every single port... and changed all wiring connections ( i.e. grounds, butt connectors, ring terminals, male/female terminals) and double checked everything under the sun.... and we couldn't get it to act up on the test drive..... but we've had that happen before..... so tommorow the ride to and from work will really be the deciding factor if we've nipped it in the bud. Who knows what the problem is/was.

I totally was thinking the same on the o2 meter, that's why we think ignition. it's not burning, doesn't mean the fuel isnt' there.
