first and foremost... does your truck have posi?? and also, look into a stall convertor right away.(i really wish these were my first mods)

The reason I said NOT to go with headers(at least right now) is bacause you mentioned that you were looking to do an STS kit. I have yet to see headers compliment an STS kit, unless is is far beyond the base kit. I have heard people complaining about actually LOOSING power with them... either way, if you get the headers, I would do them after the bigger mods, and also, go with long tubes or go home.

Second... If you go with FI... I would wait on the heads, cam and springs also. You can get a good set of heads/springs/rods/cam setup to work really well on a Normally aspirated truck/car, and then throw on a trubo or blower and they won't work near optimum for your setup thereafter.

My advise is to not go out and buy Bolt-on's right away. Look inot alot of things beforehand and plan out your mods accordingly to your goals in the Long run, and Do the BIG mods first.

If you go with FI, you can get a set of 6.0 heads really cheap and they have larger combustion chambers for more forced air in the motor as well as dropping the compression so you can run more boost and timing to get better power out of the motor. The cam on the other hand should be selected accordingly with a turbo or blower so you can get a specific cam that works well on FI applications.

As far as the tranny goes.. the 60e can hold up under 450rwhp and no hammering the hell out of the throttle and dropping the gears all the time. Drive it moderately until you want to race it. A shift kit should be had anyways for an extra piece of mind and firmer and quicker shifts.

Yes, my truck has the 3.73 limited slip rear end (G90???). I'm presuming that is the posi you are talking about?

I don't think I'm going to do FI. As great as it is, this is my daily driver truck and I don't want to get too crazy with it.

That's why I'm leaning towards the headers, stall converter, tune route at this point. I'd like to do headers first and then the stall converter.

chris, your truck looks sweet, btw.

I agree with Chris, the main thing is to have a goal set with the truck and stick to it. There are so many things that you can do, and then add this or that and it not be compatible. I am sure if you did any modding on your vette you already know this.

The factory posi should be fine unless you plan on adding a lot of mods and do a lot of racing with it. For a daily driver mildly modded, should hold up fine. Although an eaton unit is always a good thing. I would highly suggest a stall and trans mods as first mods. This was by far one of the be things I've done to date on mine.

And let us know how the modding goes.
