Oil pump primer?

Default Oil pump primer?

What is everyone using to prime the oil pump? Only thing I can find is distributer primer do they make anything to prime ls motors?

as far as i know you cant do it manually.

Pull the plugs and use the starter till it reads oil pressure

Pull the plugs, unplug the coil packs, and pull the fuel pump relay, then crank the motor. It should build oil pressure this way without starting.

Just fire it up, I've done all mine like this and never a problem.

I would probably just pull the fuel pump relay and unplug the coil packs, but as per the quote from Moregrip below posted back in '07, yes there is a tool available:

New engine prelube tool. General Motors has recently developed an engine prelubrication tool with its tool supplier, Kent-Moore. The preluber consists of a 2-gallon container, hand pump, flexible hose, adapter set and an instruction sheet. Properly used, the tool injects clean engine oil into the lubrication system, helping to prevent dry starts on new, remanufactured or overhauled engines.

Following the instructions included with the tool will allow the main bearings, connecting rod bearings and oil pump to get a healthy dose of lube. Use more than the minimum recommended amount of oil and the cam bearings and other valvetrain components will also be lubricated.

Just start it up...it will build oil pressure just like when you do an oil change.
