oil cooler recommendations

Default oil cooler recommendations

im gettin kinda paranoid about my oil getting to hot , im wondering if an oil cooler is really needed? my oil got dark very fast (1000 miles) , alot faster than normal

should i switch to a better oil?... im running valvoline 10w-40 SAE right now for break in,

who here runs an oil cooler on their turbo trucks

My brother has been running the **** out of his 04 2500hd 6L for years now and it has 300k miles on it. changes the oil (castrol 5w30) ever 10k miles. truck weighs 9500# and still gets 14mpg.. Ha i dont think you gotta worry.

If you worried bout it getting hot, run a good synthetic.
I use to run mobil1 5w30 syn when i had the turbo, towing alot and the turbo stayed really hot. never had a problem.

You runnin a oil temp gauge?
