Oil catch can

Default Oil catch can

I noticed that alot of the ls1 guys are running the oil catch cans.Should us guys that have the 4.8,5.3,6.0 be running them?Seems to be a good thing to do.Mike

I run one on my 6L and it's naturally aspirated. I get about a tablespoon of oil for every 1K miles I drive. I went with the NLP style and love it. Looks clean and mounts nicely on the firewall with no drilling.

Hey hurdlej & andrew383 I know there is a clean side(pass)and dirty side(driver)are yall running it from the driver side valve cover through the catch can to the intake?

Hell I dont think my 5.3 I put in my s10 has pcv!!Unless there are calling the valve cover vent hoses going to the throttle body and intake the pcv.IDK!!

yes from the driver side to the can and back to the intake.
they do work and very well at that.

can someone explain what a catch can is?
i know it catches oil but where does it take oil from? how is installed?

I highly recommend a catch can. Pay no attention to the sloppy hose connections...this was during my "test-fitting" phase of my build. I cleaned it up significantly since then however don't have any fresh pictures yet.
