Royal Purple is the most expensive and 'supposed' to be the best but I have never tried it. Anything else to me, is just a matter of personal preference...

I have always used castrol...In the SS I have been using Castrol Syntec. When I welded the rings I took the engine apart and it was very clean, and you could still see cross hatch on the cylinders at 60K miles.

On my 03 and 01 I've used Royal Purple and Mobil-1 and honestly I could tell a difference ONLY when it was freshly done with the Royal Purple. But after a few hundred miles the feel went away. So either one suited me well.

Right now, half and half Mobil 1 EP 5W-30 and German Castrol 0W-30. Lovin it! This combo is SO much better than the crappy Valvoline I had in it before. Oil pressure is WAY up from stock. I plan to go full GC on my next full change.

Oil is oil..

I use Shell Rotella T 15-40 in all my vehicles. I used Havoline 10-40 for years before that.

I do not use Synthetic...
