Default OEM lifters

Are these lacking in any regards as far as keeping up with a more aggressive cam lobe profile? I'm getting ready to do a cam swap and am starting to gather all of the parts I will need. Not sure if the OEM lifters are adequate with more aggressive aftermarket cam lobes. Do most of you guys replace them when doing a cam swap? Engine has under 1500 miles.

With 1500 miles they still brand new but if you want to change them get you a set of new ls7 lifters.

My main concern is if the OEM lifters are durable enough to last with the increased pressure of upgraded springs and more aggressive cam lobes. I am getting feedback though that they will be fine so I guess I will leave them and see.

You rarely ever see anyone swap lifter when doing a cam swap these days. It's just not needed.

The only ones you need to swap out are the DoD lifters, but your truck shouldn't have Dod. There were a small number of 6.2s that had the hardware but it just wasn't turned on so its worth a look.

I heard this from guy that I ordered my cam, phaser limiter, springs, etc from also. Apparently GM put the POS AFM lifters in some non-AFM trucks. If those are discovered in the cam swap process then I will replace them with regular lifters or even the LS7s.

Your stock lifters or more than fine to handle what mods your doing unless like mentioned before you have dod then buy a set of ls7 lifters best bang for buck

I did lifter replacement on my vehicle simply because the engine had 100k on it and the lifter trays were rotted out. Otherwise, the OE lifters will work fine. Replacing them is only needed to guarantee reliability.

Also, don't waste your time hoping the lifters will stick in the trays when you cam swap. Make 'em stay.

Guys, GM uses LS7 lifters across the board now. You go order stock replacement lifters for any LS you get LS7's

Stock lifters are fine, but as stated I am pretty sure that if you order new ones OEM, they are infact the ls7..

What's the best/most economical way to do this?
