Default Octane mixing

Is there a certain ratio mix to get different ratings?

I want to use the 93 octane option on my HPP3 but there is no 93 octane here in California anymore All we have is 87, 89 and 91.

I know there are places that sell 100 octane here, so how would I dilute it to get around 93...94?

5 gallons of 100 and 20 gallons of 87?
I have no idea...

Thanks in advance

it is a math problem, lets say 15gallons of 91 and 5 gallons of 100.

((15 x 91) + (5 x 100))/20 = 93.25octane

does that make sence? if not i can try and explain it better

I know plenty of people that have run 91 octane with the 93 tuning and never had a SES light or problems. Try some good brand 91 octane gas, 76, Chevron, etc.

it's not going to turn on a light, just perform slower under certain conditions. it will be more likely to see knock retard and pull alot of timing making you slower than you would have been with the 89 tuning. right up to the point it starts to see knock it will be faster with the 93 tuning, just not sure what temp or conditions when that would occur.

Hey Chin, Jim (Y2K Silverado) was running the HPP3's 93 tuning with 87 Cali gas. I'd PM and ask him all about it.

Anyway, why do you guys have that ghetto 91?

I'm unsure, I remember reading a post on FSC by some guy who works in one of the refiners for Unocal or Exxon or something, and it had to do with the oil companies fighting over rights to gasoline formulas or something...
No doubt its all politics...****** stupid asses...

That makes perfect sense. Didn't know it was so easy. Thanks!
Now, who knows where they sell 100 octane in So Cali? I know some 76 stations do, just don't know which ones. Probably by LAX.
