Default O2 Sim Question

Can they be made easily using a resistor and connector or is there more to it than that? Any help appreciated.

Not that I'm aware of. I think they actually read o milivolt signal. They are pretty much a cheap o2 analyzer. Good luck finding out for sure though.

O2 sims are tricky. You should spend the extra little bit of money and get the good ones that cross-count. They will vary their millivolt readings slightly to show that the "cat" is still doing its job correctly, even though its not there. The cheap ones just give a constant O2 reading, which will eventually set off your Check Engine Light.

ONLY use the O2 sims on the back O2 sensors, NEVER on the front ones. The front O2 sensors are there to tell the computer how rich or lean the A/F ratio is. If you put an O2 sim here, it would tell the computer false information that would probably destroy your engine. Hope that helped a bit.

Thanks for the info in your first paragraph. I knew about just using them in the rear. I might get headers someday, that's why I was asking.

BTW,how much do good ones cost?
