o2 fuse problem
#1
5.3 4l60e swaped into 87 chevy. everything runs fine except the 02's dont work. ive been driving it around for weeks with no o2's - the fuse has been blown and i just figured that out yesterday. so when i put the shift kit in the truck, i noticed i burt the pas. side 02 connector. i figured thats what caused the fuse issue.. but i butt connected it and started it and it blows the fuse instantly... anything i can check??
i mod'd theharness myself using lt1swap.com's info in there is a key on power wire going to the 02's thats the only connection i made and its correct? maybe the 02 took a **** and thats why its blowing the fuse? you think?

hurm, well after thinking about it, i only came up with a senerio. that would be cut the passengerside 02, tape the wires so they cant touch, and then start the truck, add the fuse. if that pops, that wasnt the problem.
the driverside is uncut, undamaged, but if the above doensst work, i will unplug that sensor and start the truck and add fuse. if it pops i will be at a complete loss..

problem solved.
solution was i wired the damn thing in wrong. i didnt want to cut alot of wire off so i cut it -1/4"- from the pigtail and the wires were pretty dark colored from being cooked. long story short i mistaken the pink for the tan and vice versa. when the sensor was plugged in and not installed the fuse didnt pop. since the o2 was a Internally grounded sensor it didnt pop the fuse untill it made contact with the exhaust (which is grounded).
basiaclly i had it PINK, PURPLE, BLACK , TAN
needed to be TAN, PURPLE, BLACK, PINK
presto now the truck goes into closed loop and woot woot for that, performance and mpg. previously with no o2's i was hittin 13.5 mpg... we will see what im getting with the o2's working. ive also copied and pasted some tuning parameters from a hypertech tune onto my trucks PCM. we will see...
