Problem with what you have is, the stock 6.0 setup of 2 pipes going into the stock muffler. Emphasis here on the word "stock". If you look up headers "for a 6.0", that carries the assumption that you mean "unbolt my manifolds from my 6.0 and bolt the headers in their place". A little too specific maybe for what you need.

If you put a 5.3 style muffler on it, with one SINGLE pipe going into it, then there are any number of header options out there. Since the 5.3 and 6.0 are for all practical purposes the same motor just with 2 different bore sizes, it will work just fine. Everything will bolt up, will flow entirely enough, etc. You can even get any of the complete cat-back exhausts on the market for such a setup, and since the outlet of the system as described above will exactly match the stock I-pipe, they will all bolt up, as well. Emphasis once again on the word "stock".

Alternatively, I have no doubt that there are various more ... shall we say ... "universal" ... long tube options out there, that aren't designed to work with a stock exhaust system at all; which you could use if you were willing to ditch the stock exhaust system and completely start from scratch with a totally "custom" exhaust. Not my idea of A Good Idea, but that's just me. I tend to like things that have already proven by multiple users having installed them, and that I can maintain, myself.

I would NOT bother with shorties no matter what. There's not enough difference from manifolds to make all the expense and effort worthwhile.

FYI, I have cheeeeeeep stainless long-tubes off of ebay with their own stainless 3" Y-pipe that I got ceramic coated, a Gibson stainless single exhaust, and a Vibrant stainless resonator. Emphasis in this case on "stainless". The same setup would handle a 6.0 flawlessly. In fact I intend that it will soon, if I can ever get up off my lazy butt and put this perked-up LQ9 I have sitting around into my truck.

In and of themselves, they do not.

More specifically, they fit the engine perfectly, and the vehicle, but not the stock 6.0 exhaust.

It might be possible to have somebody fab up a Y-pipe to do that, iunno. SE themselves might have a Y-pipe that would do that. They do have full exhaust systems that bolt up to them, in any case; whether any of that will work with the stock exhaust or not.

"Stock" is the word with all the emphasis here. Investigate carefully how much else you'd have to change, in order to use them.

Those are one of the more "universal" type of solutions I was referring to. A very popular one in fact.

Virtually all headers for a NBS truck will work, you are just going to have switch the mid pipe to a Y pipe or have an exhaust shop custom build the exhaust after the collectors....take your pick Kooks, ARH, Texas Speed, Speed Engineering, Pacesetter...

Dude the second post in this thread answered everything for you, you just didn't read it

yes the steering shaft has to be pulled to install the headers. That's not a fitment issue, it's an install procedural step

to reiterate: hundreds of header options exist for your truck/frame/engine/trans combo. However, you WILL have to change the middle of the exhaust as the 6.0HD trucks are dual exhaust until the muffler. If you have some skills and some time, it's really not a big deal. If this the straw breaking the camels back: this project already isn't for you

which is exactly what the second post in this thread said but you didn't read it and said ppl were just throwing opinions out
