I talked to guy in a nitrous 96 LT1 Impala, running 14.20's on a 100 shot.

He told me he was building an SS with a Magnacharger and nitrous, 100 shot. I thought that was a big shot.

The most I would run is a 50 shot, probably 35 is optimum for realiability purposes.

2toneblown sprayed a wet 50 shot on his radix 5.3 and gained 75rwhp. Although he said something about the head gaskets being nearly shot when they took the heads off. I would just make sure your tune is safe enough. Nitrous + detonation = pop

I heard that you can't run nitrous through the blower or at least it is not good for it. I would think a direct port system would work well with a radix.

They say meth is not good because it causes the coating on the rotors to flake off over time.

As far as nitrous, 2toneblown ran a 50 wet shot and he gained 75 rwhp. A guy that F8L knows was running a 75 shot through his radix 6.0 SS silvy and running 12.5's I believe.

It can be done, just have to be careful. A blower backfire will blow the charger right off the intake manifold.

I should change my sig, because I'm probably not going to spray meth, but denatured alcohol or a alky/water mix which is supposed to be alot less corrosive (or maybe not corrosive at all?). I heard about the coating flaking off, but Brian told me that that was just with the older gen eatons. So I think I'm going to try an alky kit and see if I can get more timing out of the tune. I've been trying to decide between the snow performance, alky control or SMC kits......

Just put a set of cometic gaskets on your truck. My truck handled it fine. Yes the stock 50K mile head gaskets were almost shot when i pulled the motor apart, but what do you expect from a kid that was out at the street races or track every weekend going through about 5 bottles a week? I was making 475 on stock internals. I personally think it will be fine if you put some good head gaskets on it. LS1s LOVE nitrous
