I am going to be purchasing the baisic gm efi NX kit next week. I was wondering what all it took to run a window switch and what all options the base kit came with on how you want to spray it e.g. WOT, window, button, so on.

 

I dont have a window switch. It works without one, but one is definitely recommended.

I would get a full-throttle switch. Basically, that keeps the nitrous from activating before you are ready. Thats a cheap switch too. Other than that, you should be good to go. The kit comes complete with different jets to control how much juice you are flowing.

One other thing you should get - bottle heater. Its a night and day dfference with a hot and cold bottle.

 

Bottle warmer & open throddle switch work great on my 4.8 single cab.But I have a problem with it banging out.I just installed an NX wet kit w/a 100 shot,colder plugs,already had cold air intake,160 stat,LS1 edit,msd wires,throddle body spacer,stock 342,and a transmission Corvett rebuild kit w/ shift kit,exhaust,and I ran 93 octane gas.I hit the n20 at 2500RPM and it was fine 9.05 at 79mph in the 1/8.But when I hit it at 3000RPM it bangs out.This is very frustrating I think I nead to retart my timing but I'm not sure.I need expert advice.

 

i don't know if i can help but i sure would like to know what "banging out" is. is that the same as hitting your revlimiter?

 

I was wondering that same thing...what is banging out? And another thing my main question is what does it cost to run a window switch and where can i find one from NX to go with the base NX kit?

MSD makes a nice window switch that can be used on any N20 system.

"banging out" is a sound that it makes like it is detonating. it is not, but that is what it sounds like. i need to retard my timing and see how it does from there.

 

sounds more like he might be talking about real detonation, never heard of something that sounds like detonation that retarding timing would help with except for real detonation. <img border="0" alt="[bomb]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_bomb.gif" />

 

yea window switches are way over rated. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> just get a little micro switch from radioshack and mount it to the TB.that will work fine.
