Default Nitrous Kits!

I was just wondering what nitrous kit everyone is using. I can see on the fastest truck list that some of you guys are running some pretty impressive times with the "giggle gas". I've also seen that you guys are running anywhere from a 100hp dryshot to a 225hp dry shot. What's safe with a stock short block, and when do you need to have a wet kit? Thanks!

There is one guy running a 240 wet shot on an all stock 6.0. You can get a good wet kit for @ $800, and run an easy 150-200 shot on your engine.

I started off with a 100 dry shot, and kept uping it from there. I wound up spending $300 on a bottle and solenoids, $125 on 1/4" braided line and fittings, $250 on injectors, $190 on an in line fuel pump, and about $50 in various hardware. Which comes to a little over $900. I love my dry kit cuz i believe i have less to go wrong, but wet kits are awsome for serious power.

BTW, if you just want a simple kit Compucar has a $400 dry kit that you can run 100 shot with no other mods, and installs in about 30 minutes. Its a good boost for a cheap price.

I just looked at that Compucar kit, are you talking about the hidden one? That seems pretty cool, only how does it install, and how do you keep it hidden?

I read that when the nitrous is injected, the computer goes into "cold start" mode. Is that safe? If I have my PCM tuned, will this setup still work? Sorry for all the questions, but I gotta know!

Yes its the hidden one. You just run the line to the airbox lid, drill a small hole and secure it in. Then plug the solenoid into the cigaret lighter and push the button. To keep it hidden it uses black line and sits in a douffle bag.

Here is a pic of the kit on my Blazer. Just be sure you put the jet in front of the MAF.

Here is the bottle, i dont keep it in the bag. The car seat throws them off.

And yes it will work fine with a custom tune. Just dont go over a 125 shot without at least a fuel pump upgrade. Its all in the instructions for the kit what you can and cant push safely.
