Default Nitrous: can this be done ??

well i've installed the wet kit on my truck this past weekend and everything works fine. Only one issue presented itself, the switch that was provided use the throttle linking to trigger the nitrous at WOT. for the moment i have run in the cab so i can click it manually ( i like it better that way anyway) i was wondering if there is a way i can wire it to the cig. lighter ? and then hook up a simple switch to a dc plug (like a phone charger) then just plug it in when ever i want to use the nitrous. is this possible?

Do not screw around with nitrous oxide. You need to know for absolute certainty that the system will be disarmed at anything less than WOT, or you could have a very expensive explosion. The best way to ensure that the WOT condition is met is to install that switch as intended.

If you really just want to do it that way, just put a toggle on one of the wires to interupt the circuit when you don't want it armed.

Well what is the issue? You never describe the problem.

Instead of clicking the WOT button why don't you just do a push button activation. Radio shack has them cheap. Like James B. said, don't take any chances with nitrous. It isn't worth it. Just run the button to the arming switch.

ok, i think i miss explained myself. the arming switch is already in and that works fine. im currently using the micro switch as a push button as a temporary solution until i get the right button. (i can't use the micro switch the way its suppose to because my throttle is electronic ( no cable). i was only asking if i can wire my push button switch using the aux. power outlet.

i made up kind of a rough diagram on paint of what im trying to do.

What year truck do you have? I know that on my 03' a WOT wouldnt work because of the electronic TB so I had to use a TPS switch! Never mind I see you have a 04' so you cant use a WOT switch! You have to buy a TPS switch! I used the NX one and they are from $75-$99. DynoTune also makes one a little cheaper! Are you calling your TPS switch a WOT switch?

Just put the WOT switch inside the cab under the gas pedal.

I've seen this before on some hidden setups. It works just fine, and it'll be a lot safer and more consistent than a push button.

At any rate, the setup you are trying to do is similar to the Compucar kit. It uses the cigarete lighter to power the noid and push button. Maybe someone with the kit will chime in.

im not sure what the switch have is called. The manual calles it a micro switch and it kicks on at WOT.the way everything is now ( picture A) my micro switch is acting as my push button( until i get a real push button). i didn't want to use any power from the cigarette outlet, i was going to cut those wires and tape them back. its mainly jsut so i can have a removable push button switch for when im not using it.
