I did a dyno on my truck with a stock tb and a ported one and gained 2rwhp and 3 tq.
The throttle response was nice but it didnt gain enough power.
I did a dyno on a Shaner tb for a F-body back about 2 years ago and it had the same results.

That might be why your gains are that low. The results are going to be dependent on your mods and your engine size.

The way it smoothed out my acceleration and throttle response were more than worth the $150. If I got any increases in hp or torque, that's a bonus.

So if I were to make 40 rwhp more the tb would pick up 5 more hp at the wheels?
The F-body I dynoed made 410 rwhp.It gained the same amount.

When I had SS_bnoon_SS do mine, I too noticed better throttle response & smoother acceleration. As far as HP/TQ, that was minimal to the point of not noticable. All in all, I feel it was worth it

This subject has been beaten to death on every board there is. Some people claim gains of 8 hp, some claim 3, some say none. I didn't say I gained any. I certainly didn't say if you made more RWHP the tb would automatically give you more hp. But it stands to reason if it's directing air a little more smoothly and likely even letting more in than previously, you're going to see gains.

If someone has a good intake system and headers and a free-flowing exhaust and someone else has the stock air intake system, stock manifolds, and stock exhaust, and they both put a ported throttle body on, who's going to see a larger increase in horsepower? That was my point in saying it depends on your modifications.

Sorry to hear that.

Similar thinking. I only paid $150 which was more than worth it to me even if I did only gain 2 or 3 hp. My goal in getting it ported was more to smooth out my acceleration and throttle response.

As I said, any hp is simply a bonus.
