Default newd plug wire question

alright so this is stupid but in order to change the spark plug wires i just pull them off the ends and reconnect new ones? i tugged on my old ones and they seem pretty stuck on there but i didnt want to break anything.

I encountered the same thing when I changed the sparkplugs on my '02. It was over a year ago so my memory is a little foggy but I think I ended up gently using pliers. Use your hands/fingers if you can reach, loosen the boot by gently twisting. Make sure you use a little dielectric grease inside the plug boot when you install the new wires. It'll help with removal the next time. Maybe some other, more experienced members will chime in.

Good luck.

If you're just going to trash the old ones, just yank them off and be careful not to damage the coil pack or plug. Always use that boot grease(dielectric) when putting the new ones on, you'll be glad you did.

alrighty, i do plan on throwing them away, what bolt are you talking about that you have to loosen? is it to one near the exhuast manifold? with the straight wire or by the end with the 45* bend? i assume auto zone for the dielectric grease?

not "bolt" - "boot" he said "boot"

Autozone will have the grease at the parts counter and every corner of the store....they'll be happy to sell you some

i used a small metal pick (dentist like tool) to loosen mine up when replacing, it makes them come off much easier!
