Default Newbie with cam ?s for L9H.

I've gotten a 2013 CCSB 4x4 3:73s. Looking to do a cam swap with talking to ak2007r6 he told me that I would get better off checking out this forum for info. Now to the truck specs......I've got a leveling kit with 33" A/Ts and a Hypertech tuner now. I know that once the swap is done I'll have to have a custom tune for her. I use this truck to pull a travel trailer and such things(DD) like that so I'm not really looking to make a lot of power on top end. I would like to have more torque on the low-mild range. I've talked to the guys at Comp Cams and they said I should use COMP Cams: XFI™, 263PHR14<Br>Excellent Response, Low End Torque, Good Power Gains since I would like to keep VVT and use COMP Cams: Beehive™ Valve Spring: Top 1.075" O.D., .650" I.D.; Bottom 1.310" O.D., .885" I.D. valve springs. My ?s are.....Is there a better cam to go with to make me better low end torque? Is this something I can do at the house with just a weekend? Will this cam have a somewhat close to idle sound? I would like it to be a red light sleeper.

Thanks for any info yall can give a newb!!

Glad you made it over to the site! Lots of great guys on here that know more about CAM's than I and I'm sure they will chime in. Will check back later tonight when I get to work.

Really didn't want to jump into that kind of project right now, but would love to some day! How are turbos when it comes to pulling?

Its like the weight isnt there. Going up a hill you hear the turbo spin up and you don't lose any speed.

I'd love to but the wife wouldn't be a happy camper If I dropped that kinda cash right now.....she's pissed that I'm already wanting to do a cam swap in a truck with only 1500m on it!

Check out the vvt swap thread in the gmt900 section. I think that cam is a good choice, or you could go custom grind. Install is not difficult at all. Post up specif questions or pm me and I can help ya from my experience.
