Question Newbie with a ?

Hi all,

I have a 2001 Z71 Silverado 4x4. I had gone about 500 miles over my usual 3,000 mile change. The change engine oil messge came on in the service center section of the dash. I changed the oil. I figured once I changed the oil and filter some sensor would see that the oil had been changed and the stupid change oil light would go away.

It didn't, every time I start the truck the message shows for a while then goes out. How do I get rid of the message.

Thanks,

Ken

Welcome to the boards!

My 02 wouldn't hardly ever work right. I had to do it about 30 times for it to finally realize what I was doing.

If that doesn't get it done, look in the manual on the OilLife system.
