Thanks! Chevy should just throw in the Escalade drivetrain into the Av and they would rock! When can we expect some times from your Avalanche?

I was kinda hoping to hit the 300rwhp N/A mark myself. I'm not sure if it'll hit it N/A though, thats the goal. The 5.3L was at 260rwhp last time if I remember correctly with the LS6 cam. We may end up trying the same cam in the 6.0L to see how it likes some more displacement. If we do change cams it would be fairly similiar to the LS6 cam except for the LSA which would be 112 or 114 instead of 116.

Sounds good to me. I honestly think you should be able to get more than 300 from that 6L. I am knocking on the 300 RWHP door right now (am planning a dyno this week). I have the LS6 cam, Hamms, FIPK, HPP3, semi-custom exhaust (w/ cats).

Lets see, the benefits of the 6.0L over the 5.3 IMO:
40 Cubic Inches
LS6 type aluminum heads
Larger valves
Better bore to stroke ratio
More compression with LQ9 pstons
Heads weigh less (not a HP factor)

Plus you will have: custom PCM programming, no torque management, EGR removed, cats removed (from computer at least), etc...

No balancing planned yet. If what I'm thinking is true, the LQ9 pistons should weigh the same weight as the LQ4 pistons. We'll weigh them to make sure. Balancing wouldn't really be required unless there was a 10% difference in weight of each piston. We probably were going to replace the pistons anyways, but I don't see there being a noticable power difference if the compression is the same. It worked out easier to just swap the pistons on this 6.0L instead of shaving the heads.
Jason is planning on having Ed Wright do the programming. I have a feeling the stock PCM will do ok as far as getting it running and mild driving.

Thanks Joseph. Ballpark pricing for the LQ9 pistons should be less than $400. They would be a nice addition to those aluminum heads. Do you know for sure what cam you are going with yet?

What kind of HP/TQ do you think this 6.0 you are building should put out (NA)?

So the R1 in the T/A is out? What happened to the 216/220 cam that Jason was buying?
Neil - That's it. I'm going to have to drag you with the HOSS GMC. Even my dog is scared of it!

Thats a huge drop in ET from your last run..Traction and 47 deg. sure helps out though..

Here is my first run for a comparison ,,even though I have 4x4 ...Still don`t know my race weight but the spare tire was removed and very low on fuel... My 4.10`s also help the 60 ft. time..

weather was 62deg. 30.o5 baro and 64% hum.

2.405 sixty
6.900
10.629
13.793
16.452 @ 84.15 mph..
