Default New tip for removing stock crank pulley

First take 3 nickels and wrap some electric tape around them 2 or 3 times to hold them together. Then take the socket you used to remove the crank bolt (24mm or 15/16) and stick the nickels in it and press them in firmly. Now stick the middle of the puller into the socket and butt the back of the socket up to the crank shaft and rachet that bad boy right off without going to the store to buy a longer bolt and worrying about damaging the threads. When you're thru just hammer the nickels flat again and spend them It worked great for me

I did something similiar....

BTW, I don't think you need that long bolt to pull it off. Most people use it to put it back on.

And BTW, my new (CHEAP POS!) bolt had lots of threads to grab, and fricking got chewed to bits. I commited an LS1 tech sin and used the old one..... Months later, it is doing fine.
