Default New to site/exhaust help

Well, this is my first post and thought this was the perfect spot to start because my new silverado is wayyyy too quiet. I've had an exhaust on all my other vehicles and just can't handle this. lol. I just picked up an 03 extra cab long bed! 4x4 with a 5.3L. I've been thinking about the super 40 from flowmaster. I plan on just doing the cat back with 3" piping. Probably 3"in/dual 2.5" out and exiting straight out of the back. I want an exhaust that won't resonate inside the cab real bad because I'm having a kid in June. That's why I was looking into the super 40 and mounting it far back under the bed and running dual 3" tips out the back. Any other advice on a muffler choice? I want it to be loud as possible on the outside, but no resonance on the inside

well with a flowmaster you get poor flow for sure and ive heard (no personal experience with flowmaster) that it will drone a lot in the cab

id suggest a magnaflow or dynamax bullet

Most Flowmasters will resonate. Magnaflow or a Hooker Aero Chamber will give you a good sound, better flow, and very little resonance.

Magnaflow will sound good on your 5.3, not resonate.

They have a harder time keeping the 6L quiet.

Hmmm, I have been wanting to try magnaflow for a while but I've only really had flowmasters and hadn't wanted to change. Seems like I should though. My dad's 1993 s-10 (pretty much my first truck) had a 40 series on it and it was loud!!! I also had a 92 silverado with 40 series si/do and it was loud also!!! Didn't really resonate too much. I'm not sure how these vortecs respond though.

done all the major brands and I can honestly say right now just order a bassani 4x8x12 3 inches in/dual 2.5 out and run them out the back. I have this muffler on my reg. cab supercharged 5.3 with dumps right out of the muffler. resonance you can hear at town cruising speeds but highway it is almost non-existenet until you really step on it. But I really like the bassani sound, nice and clean with some bark. I have 3.5 inch tips dumped off the muffler and this is my 3rd bassani muffler and I will be installing one on my step-dads tahoe with pacesetters and no cats with probably dual in/out with x pipe where the cats where. but good luck, I just suggest it's easier to swap mufflers and cheaper then complete bolt on systems.

Are there any clips of the bassani exhaust out there? I've heard mustangs with them and they sound mean as hell, but never on a truck..... I'm curious
