Definantly get some tunning. But I would not go with Ed Wrong. I've heard to many scary stories from him. But on the other hand, he has a lot of fans. Just not me.

well i am in the same boat. but i think when i get tunned it will be like a whole new truck. I have ed wright tunning now and am not impressed. I am going to take my truck to thunder and have them dyno tune it in october. i am hoping this is the prob. because i feel like you do it runs better because i had a 4.8 but not as good as i thought. also for me it could be a fiew more things besids the tune.

Buy your own LS1 edit cable and have a good tuning shop do the tuning for you. Also, your exhaust may be a little restricted, a goo set of long tube headers might release a little more power for you.

I bet you are getting max knock retard, that will make it feel like the motor that came out.

Tell you what get Ls1 edit and,and do a lite tune. We had never had tuned one but first try with little help netted us 380 at the wheels ay MTI...The extended cab Went 13.05 at around 105 on motor. The timing retard was killing the truck until we figured out where to get it all takin out from...So give it as shot...

u luz that is funny you say that. my truck is the exact same way. will barely turn the tires off the line but runs good from about 3500 rpms. i know i am seeing 8* knock. because i have put it on efi live. also i was told that the torque management would affect off the line. i was thinking my cam was too big and gear to low but now i am thinking it is going to be like a new truck when tunned. I will see soon.
