the more i think about it, i dont even think that would be a fair race honestly, that is if the 5.3L had traction. the torque converter would kill it off the line considering u have traction, then once u get higher in the rpms the procharger kicks in at full boost, so basically, u would have it covered at both ends

What do those things run stock? 13.8's or in that range?

You can beat that with minor mods if needed. But lets say it runs a 13.5 stock and he adds a chip, pulley, intake...with some tires he might see something around a 12.5 or so...questimation...

Well... a 5.3L with:
pulleys
Intake
converter
100 shot
HPP3
should see some times in that range if you have some tires. I am still without any times on my TNT kit but I think that with a converter and some traction I will see 12.8's or so if not better. Plus I still have stock exhaust... I need to get those times in so I can stop guessing...

yeah, if a 100 shot can do it, jsut think what a procharger running stock boost can do, once those thigns get into boost they can make NICE power.

brad, cutout (cheaper) and converter, nice combo

Default New guy with a question

SO a friend of mine just bought a 02 Lightning. I hate to admit it but it is a fast truck. So what would a 02 reg cab 5.3 GMC take to beat his truck if he kept it stock. DO you guys think a ati procharger, a torque converter, and full exhaust with some suspension work would keep with him? Thanks in advance
