Yes your problem is the X-pipe and the mufflers..
The X-pipe does cancel out the exhaust pulses

when selecting a muffler..
keep this in mind..
the shorter the muffler the louder it will be, the longer the muffler the quiter it will be.
a 19 inch muffler will be more quite than a 13 inch muffler.. for example

So would an x-pipe with 2 Dynomax bullets be a good sound level or is the x-pipe killing the sound that much? How is that x-pipe effecting performance, low end torque / high end hp ??

X-pipe killed low end Torque on mine..
on the bullets.. I dont know how long they are, but as stated above the shorter they are the louder they will be..
now it will still be quiter than a dual setup with out an x pipe, but if you have to have the x-pipe I would suggest looking at a short muffler,
You could check out IMCO mufflers..
very similar to Flowmasters, but are better IMO
I havnt had a problem with them, and there are several memebers on here using them..

xpipe helps with low end torque. long tube headers help with high rpm hp.

I am running lt's, 2.5 x-pipe, no cats , two single chamber flows and adaul side exits. It has a quiet idle but its really loud at wot. I've had several pro comments on it. But on my 4.8 stock w/ a high flow intake only i think i lost a little low end torgue and top i high no complaints.
