Default New ECM tuning....better than ls1 edit?

I don't know if this has been talked about on the board yet. I'm sure it probably has been, but i was reading about this new programmer for the ls1's that is like ls1 edit and autotap combined. And supposedly it's not locked to one vin#. It looks pretty bad! Does anyone know anything about it? www.hptuners.com

There is a big long thread that someone from the company is involved with in the PCM section. The guy from the company is named Magnus. It seems pretty good. He acknowledged there was a problem with the truck tuning on the 03's and up, but said it has long been fixed. Maeks me think CarPuting is dragging *** on the issue.

It isn't locked by VIN, but it is locked by model and year. You buy it for an 03 truck, that means it works on 03 trucks, not Tahoe's or Burbans, but trucks, and only on 03 year model trucks. It is a step better than EDIT from that sense. From the way they are talking about it in the PCM section, it is the ****. If the truck issue is worked out ... it may be worth forking out the 500 bucks for it and selling my Atap/EFILive cable for it all.

I would have gotten this in a heartbeat had I known it was fixing to be available. I just spent 425 on EDIT, adding a new VIN to my cable (200), new software (100), benchtop programming cable (125). Another 75 bucks and I could have had the new stuff.
