New Cam and heads For a SS
#1
What would be a good cam and heads setup for an SS but still not lose very much drivability. and how much would this cost me. latter i want to S/C my SS but I think it would be better if i Put new and better Cam and heads on it befor the S/C.

Keep the stock heads (the 6.0 heads flow REALLY well) and swap to something like a 216*/216* .559/.559 112lsa cam, take the money you will save on the heads and buy long-tube headers and a custom dual exhaust...you will be VERY happy with the results

A good cam for your setup now will not necessarily be a good cam for you when you go S/C. Id wait and plan on both at the same time, or do the blower first.
IM going to use a LS6 cam when i eventually do it. It should be a good blower cam. Headwork will really help you out with the supercharger.
the stock heads are very good, but of coarse they can use some work to make them even better. I think the best bang for your buck will be in the headwork when you go S/C

LS6 heads may be too much when you go to the SC. If you plan to hve SC motor in the future you need to start building it as a SC motor. Otherwise you'll be doing things twice. I would go ahead and clean up the stock heads and get a cam. But you will most likely switch the cam again when you put the SC on. Also look into the exhaust as stated above.

clean them up, like doing mild porting and polishing type stuff, getting rid of the factory imperfections. thats what mild or pocket porting is, they only do work on the combustion chamber and the ends of the ports, when you get full porting, they do the whole port. If you look into it you will find that there are a lot of things that can be done to the heads, but if you ask a lot of good shops they will most likely tell you to wait and do the S/C at the same time, because they will do their porting differently than they would if it was gonna be a N/A or nitrous motor
