new a/c condensor in.....now what? a few questions.
#1
i finally put my new replacement condensor in (i drilled a hole in the other one and my refrigerant went bye bye)
i put the PAG oil into the condensor and then bolted it in.
now to recharge this thing with the R1354a refrigerant, what do i do.
ive never done this before, so iam at a loss. how many bottles of that stuff should i buy?
i was thinking though, that the a/c system has been introduced to the atmosphere, so iam thinking maybe theres air bubbles inside my system.
should i go to a shop and have this done :dunno:
any input i would appreciate.
thanks
todd

I'm sure you'll hate to hear this, but unless you have access to an A/C machine, you'll have to go to a shop. To ensure proper operation, you need to pull a vacuum on the system before filling the system with R134a, you could use a vacuum pump to do it yourself I geuss, if you could fab up some connectors to hook it up. The machine at my shop draws a vacuum to 28" hg, but it decides how much vacuum to pull depending on elevation. So I guess its up to you.
