New best at the track!
#1
I woke up this morning, went home with the intentions of going to sleep some more and realized it was gonna be a great day for racing! Sooo I swapped wheels (for the last time) to my lighter ones, removed the 2 subwoofer boxes (45lbs ea.) and washed the ol' truck up.
After a stressful commute to the track I reluctantly handed over the $45 to race because the truck had been acting funn on the way there and didn't feel like it had any power compared to the last few days.
First run was my best as it was still cold out and the tranny/motor had not heated up.
14.60@92.7mph 2.054 60'
After that I messed up the 60's trying different launching techniques and ran a string of 14.70s and a 14.87. By this time the truck was getting too hot to race (for better times anyway) due to the fact i have NO fans on it right now, just a 160 thermo
So I called it a day.
Overall it ain't fast but it is almost exactly where i wanted it before the 150shot goes on. I may switch out the cam to something bigger with a lower powerband just to ensure 12s on the jug. *shrugs*
I want to thank Allen at Nelson for helping out with my PCM programing and BLH6.0HD for the cam install and any other cam installs I'm gonna have him do in the future

Thanks guys
I know the times are not the greatest but not too bad for a 4x4. I think there is still some left in it once I get some air/fuel tuning done. or just get a real cam.
It's $45 to race on a Test & Tune or Grudge Night. You get a ton of runs in. Regualr Wed. Bracket night is like $15 now. But you are inundated with Imports!!! Cali is the Import mecha! God it sucks. Then again, seeing the lok on their faces when they get trounced by a 4x4 ext.cab is priceless!!
You guys think I could hit a 12.9 or better on a 150shot?

Those are some nice times, F8L... congrats.
It sucks getting paired up with a bracket car.
I remember my first time. It was a 69 Chevelle, all tubed and wheelie-bar'd and stickere'd up. They did something funny to the tree, like, ran my side first or something. I didnt expect that. I'm just some dumb kid in my first car. Now that I think of it, I might have been there on a test-and-tune night, while normally I'd go on "street-night", so they probably just set the tree up for this guy.
I got full 1.5 second R/T, and had this guy carry his front wheels past me. He got the front left up in second, and was just GONE. He ran 10 something at (I want to say) 156. I got a good five seconds to think about how fast that car was, as I stared as his time on the board.
I ran a wonderfull 15.4 at 89. (this is in my old '70 Olds Gutless Supreme)
People must have been laughing their @sses off.
