I brought the Silverado out this weekend to our MFBA track rental because my '96 Z28 still isn't completed. I've only run the truck once before but that was in summer and it was an awful day to run. (temps in the 80's with high humidity)

The truck is a 2000 Silverado Z71, 5.3, 4WD, SC, EB, approx raceweight 5000lbs. Only mods are Gibson 3" exhaust and HPP3 programming.

Best then was 15.99 @ 85.60 mph.

This weekend weather was a 'tad' better. Temps were in the 60's for a while but humidity was at least 80%, probably more as there was fog everywhere. Temps did rise up near 80 though as the day went on. Also dropped the spare and took out the bed mat.

My best run was: 15.55 @ 86.03 mph on a 2.26 60'
Truck ran those numbers pretty consistent all day on the few runs I did.

Basically I am really happy with the results for a full size truck with little done to it. I am going to add a UPD intake and wait for some cooler weather in late October and see if I can knock this puppy down near a 15.2 or lower.

My only concern is that the mph doesn't seem to be where I would expect. I figured I would be seeing a little closer to 88mph, maybe I might with the cooler weather?

Anyway...are there any similarly modded Z71 trucks out there of the same body style? Just curious how 'on target' I stand with mine.

My standard cab 4.8's best is a 15.55 too! My mph was a little higher at 88.5. But my 60' was a little worse than yours (usually a 2.4-2.5.)

Dunno why your mph is off....

I've got you out-cubed by a bit, but you've got probably 400 less lbs of bulk though that you are carrying around. LOL <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Hopefully I'll get to bring the truck out one more time with a UPD intake and maybe some other minor things, like inflating the tires more etc. I'd really like to see a 15.20 @ 88 mph before the year is up <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

All of my runs have been in the fantastic heat and humidity that we have here in FL. Temps have been in the mid 80's for all of my runs. Maybe with some cooler weather, I'll get down into the low 15's.
