Default New best for 99 Tahoe 5.7

Old best: 16.8@82.4mph
New best: 16.3@83.3mph

!air filter
!jack
!spare

Had a full tank of gas, I mean full, but last time I had 1/2 of a tank.

I think I can hit 15.9 with a catback and a cooler t-stat.

I went from 16.8 to 16.3 with weight reduction and removing the air filter, and a plug change.

I think I will try for 15.8's with a catback, UPD airbox, 1/4 tank of gas, and a colder t-stat, maybe a HPP3.

Hey Neil I don't race at sea level like you I bet we are already a heads up race BLAH.

Terry, what did you run?

John, 10.10@69 in the 1/8th, stock weight with a K&N filter, hole in my wheel well for cold air, and a dynomax muffler/custom ipipe. I'm almost done adding a 75 shot of juice, and I have a $70 set of UD pulleys in the mail. I also discovered my 28" ET streets that look ghetto on the Z28 fit the Sonoma perfectly. I lost ET with them compared to my 225/70/15 475 tread wear stockers, but with the juice they might help. I'm also going to throw in some extra 4.10s and posi that I have sitting around (3.42s w/ open diff now).

I might also do a $300 stealth yank. I'd like to run high 12s with this thing and look completely stock. Imagine how much money I'll make.

I am not going to mod this truck except for little stuff and I am going to keep the 3.08 gear for now... 500 miles/25 gallons is nice in a big tank like the HOE.

Neil, I got it down to 16.3 w/o even trying I think I'd wack you bad if I got serious *SMACK*.
