Default New 5.3 build advice

I am looking for advice on a new build. I just blew my 6.0 in my sig. Piston went in #7. 4000 miles into the truck

Anyway i am now in a pinch to get a new motor back in my truck since its my daily driver. I am on a tight budget and looking to use what I have.

I have the 5.3 block. I was thinking of using the prc 2.5 5.3 heads (should be 10.5-11:1 compression i think), I will swap the tbss intake. new injectors ( i think they killed the last two motors) keep the headers.

Now for the big question, the cam.
I really want to use the v2. Assuming no damage. I know its a big cam for this motor but it can be done. I have a 2800 stall. but it is a 4x4. I am not racing it so 60ft times don't matter much to me.....yet
I also have a 224/224, I know this would be the tamer choice. But its going to be hard to go down in power after the lq4.
I just want to max out the motor n/a and still be usable.

All of this is going on a stock bottom end, ls6 oil pump and ls2 timing chain and gears.
Fire away. Again all I'm buying is fluids, gaskets, bolts, injectors and new fuel pump. so this is whats on the table. In other words no more go fast parts. Oh i also plan on putting a wet kit on it. Only a 75 shot. but Im still doing it.

I will be building the 6.0 on the side. Might go stroker who knows.

Thanks for your input

in my personal experience even that 224 is to much cam for a 5.3
there's a thread on this site about how sometimes massive durations hurt your actual performance (unless you wanna build a dyno queen)

I run a 220 with a 3000 stall and sometimes wish I went 3400

but if it came between the two that you have, I'd run that 224
