Sounds like an 8.1 truck? There are alot of mods available for this motor - induction, exhaust, headers, computer programming, ported throttlebody, MAFs and bigger mods like ported heads, Comp Cams and superchargers if you feel that you need a big gain in horsepower.

I believe a stock HD runs in the high 15s to low 16s?

Steve,

One of the first things you should do would be to put on a UPD intake. I have an 04 Denali 6.0L and am pretty happy with what the UPD did for it.
I have been happy with the customer service I have gotten from Tbyre. Would definately recommend Tom for any performance products you want to get for the new truck.

Open up the intake and exhaust. it is well worth it. Then get tuning.

Steve,

When you get a chance could you check your exhaust and let me know what the configuration on it is. Mine is dual 3" in and out of the muffler with the y-pipe behind the muffler. Seems like an odd way to do the exhaust just wanted to see if yours was the same.

Thanks,

Kevin

Yeah tuning for sure...the 6.0s are the most detuned of all the truck motors from what I have heard.
