There really isn't so called "constants" (things that are known to be different), after a camshaft swap. I mean, of course you know, timing & the air/fuel % will be thrown off, but I can think of 10+ tables in my HP tuners that correlate in fixing these variables.
So, how does it correct the tune?
Is there some sort of target base, that the tune shoots for and fixes any problems?

with all of those vehicles and cams used, they came up with basic tunes for each cam profile range. look at the bottom of the page for the link above. it'll show you the parameters for each cam tune. for instance, quiet tahoe used the CAM #1 tune because the 210/218 cam he's using fits the profile. this will get you close to the tune for you. then you use the timing and fuel sections to make further changes to dial in your set up.
basically VHP and CRANE have done most of the tuning work for you with the preselected tunes. literally hundreds of dyno runs, track runs, and street driving to get each of those vehicles dialed in.
when you buy hptuners or ls1edit, you have to figure all that out on your own. what changes to make where. not that either editor is bad. they are great if you are wanting to make every minute change there is. and you have the time, patience, and knowledge in using them.

no prob. it's not the cure all for tuning issues. but, for the basics, it works great. i picked up .2 and 1.4 mph using it on my stock motor. and a friend of mine got .5 out of it with his 99 TA M6. he had longtubes, no cats, no air, no egr. of course the VHP cannot delete codes associated with the removal of items. that's where having hptuners and ls1edit come into play.

I Have Thunder Racing Tune And Love It I Work For A Deal And Most Will Not Say Much But It Would Be Smart To Get Another Pcm Just In Case Because It Is Up To The Dealer To Work On It And Yes We Can Pick It Up By A Few Ways It Is Hard But If You Go In Their With A Few Mod That Might Take A Few More Sec To See If You Have Any After Market Tune Then They Will Take Your Wart. Away.

I'm just some backyard hack who's been doing it for 6 months.
