snakeeater, i think you said in another thread you were getting atap, i have efilive and allen downloaded a copy of the program from their site. if he can do the same with atap, he can do for you what he's doing for me. after the initial tune [ which was good for a shot in the dark] i started sending log files, he can now see in real time the effect of his changes. not as good as being at his shop, but very good as far as feedback. you may be more adept at tuning than me, and just having the logging program will help alot. i'm learning the cause and effect by comparing the files as i get them. allen seems like the kind of guy that if for some reason he can't solve your problem, he would'nt take your money. of course that will be between you two. but i'd be willing to guess that if you sent him a log and a file and told him your concerns, he could straighten it out. he may be able to spot the problem without a log. e

Hows the navy working out for ya? Getting some times soon in the new truck?

I think i'm just going to bite the bullet and get EFI and edit. I'll learn to tune it myself, cuz i just cant see spending $1300+ on edit,EFI, and nelson.

i see burnet texas in your sig, you could swing by allens on your next trip there. of course since i don't know where that is it might be a huge swing. btw, i had the same theory, not as easy as you would think. edit has no manual to speak of and the tables, values, and effect of changes is far from self expanatory. some of the tables are used some are not, some tables refer to others. and the tables can change from year to year, so essentially if you want to copy files you have to have the same truck. from all the posts i've seen on the edit mailer, guys have had this program for a long time and still don't have it completly figured out. if you have more time than money, that may be the best course. but considering the hours i've spent changing stuff, begging for files, programing and logging, if i had it to do over again i would have called allen right off the bat. i'm not saying you can't do it, just letting you know what your in for. if i paid myself $10 an hour i would have paid for the tune the first month, and i would have been alot happier with my truck a long time ago.
