ya, we all know Nelson's Tune is the ****, but some of the questions "4.8 Bowtie" had weren't answered. for example, could your dealer accidently program your PCM back to stock if you took your truck in for repairs or servicing? i would like to know the answer to this question as well.

A dealer will usually reflash a pcm is there is an update that corrects the problem the dealer is trying to fix or the customer complains about. All the programmers that I know, always flashes their pcm's with GM's latest calibration.
Worst case scenario, the customer would be driving around with a stock tune until a new pcm can be delivered to him free of charge, with 2-3 days.
btw, thanks guys for the comments,

I have absolutely nothing against Allen, I think he's a great guy. But I think that his tunes are WAY too expensive for me.
Or am I off base?
I already have EDIT...I thought that I would have to buy my own version since no one here in FL has the unlimited truck version of EDIT. I was told that I had to get it myself so someone could tune it.
I guess it was just a case of bad timing on my part, but now I'm stuck with EDIT and have no idea how to tune it, and if I want a Nelson Tune then I have to pay MORE than my 1/2 of EDIT (I went in with someone). I had no idea that a service like this was around.
Couple of questions, though....
1)Also, why the different pricing for different years? That part has never made sense to me.
2) How can a mail order tune be as accurate as a dyno tune? Especially for someone like me who has a little different combo than the average truck guy?
3) Can you tune for the 4L80E tranny swap?
Again, this isn't a flame on Allen at all. I'm not downing his skills, just seems a bit pricey IMO, and there are just some things that don't make a lot of sense to me.
