I now have american racing long tubes with no cats and it runs single 3 inch back to a borla with dual 2.5 out and not happy with the sound so had american racing build me a new y pipe but has open ends to run dual exhaust. So looking to run an x-pipe with two mufflers or one of these x-pipe mufflers like the magnaflow tru x by itself as it seems to be a good idea. What I am looking for is the typical (car or muscle car sound) for my 2007 tahoe. I am going with a magancharger or kenny bell and cam swap soon so the 5.3 will need all the exhaust work I am doing just to stop people from telling me I dont need all this flow on the little engine. So wanting performance of course but also want it to sound good which is not what I am getting now with current setup it just sounds choked at high rpm or really any hard throttle. It goes from throaty good sound to fart can rasp when engine spins up. I heard a clip of a red 2007 and up tahoe on the web one time and it had longtubes with duals and sounded so sweet and I cant find it again to see what setup was under it. So if very happy with what you got then share and if have run or am running a x pipe muffler let me know what you think of it. thanks for advice.....

 

From what I've read here, not many people like the sound of the X-pipe mufflers.

I'm running 2.5" duals with X-pipe back to a pair of 16" magnaflow mufflers, idle it's fairly tame, there's a bit of drone at highway speeds, under acceleration, don't plan on talking to your passenger. I had a pair of 40 series Flowmasters before the magnaflows, they're about equally as loud, but had more drone.

 

was thinking either borla xs pro or dynomax ultra flow if going dual mufflers I know the borlas seem to run quiter than most some reason even though straight through like others. Do you like the wot sound?I dont mind loud at wot just normal driving need it to be tolerable. What long tubes do you have not that it matters much just curious. I want the car sound and when someone hears then sees a tahoe they are like didnt expect that. I really hate that rasp I get from the single in dual out and sure u know what I mean if you started with bolt ons like most to get to where your truck is now which seems pretty bad *** by sig.
