Comp has a 216/220 .525ish lift cam thats great for what your trying to do.
yes about the octane thing. Obviously 93 wont provide any noticable power gains, I know that. But I don't see the point of swapping cams if you wont run 93. That just doesn't make sense to me.

The highest octane premium gas we can get here in the middle of nowhere Kansas is 91 octane. Wish we could get 93 octane.

While I agree, if you tune for low octane with a cam swap, you are leaving a little power on the table... however, a modest cam swap will still gain power even without high octane (but, you need to make sure the tuner knows).

I went this route with my mods: LT's, then 212/218 low lift Camshaft, then Tune, and gears were my last mod on a 5.3.

If I was doing it again I'd get gears first, no doubts.
