Default need some simple help...

looking to do a cam swap... i have a z71 avalanche with the 5.3... right now i have a CAI and 3 inch custom stainless catback with a borla xr-1 round case muffler.. i am looking at the tsp 220 or the 224... not really sure if even those!?

basicly i drive this truck everyday and i want 100% driveability and great power along with a nasty idle... i am going to eventually lift the truck a total of 14 inches and put 37's under it with 4.56's and a stall (whats a great stall speed for this truck with those tires and gears remember i need something practical like maybe a 2200 stall or so? ?)

i also am going to do a front mount turbo some time next year... im thinking of a nelson tune to get this all running right since there are no dyno guys even close to me and the ones to drive to within 100 miles from me are horrible. so just some direction would be great!

radix(supercharger) and the stock converter.. 220 would be fine on the cam maybe a little smaller 212/218.. you would want more torque with all that weight...and remember you'll need a tranny and t-case for all that power (just a heads up) it won't be cheap

i really wanna stick with turbo... im not drag racing the truck i just want to be able to have some kickdown fun so instant torque out of the hole doesnt mean much to me i like the efficiency of turbo and its much cheaper any supercharger kit ive seen is rediculously expensive... hole shots would need all kinds of other garbage like bigger rearend and 4l80e... im looking to leave the rear alone and go with a built 4l65e... holeshots kill stuff lol not for me... looks like the tsp 220 is the cam for me... now for the tuning... can i just get away with a nelson tune? what stall should i run? maybe the stock TBSS converter?

37's on a 8.6" 10 bolt, and a 60E. That's gonna have a hard time staying together with bone-stock power. You should look more closely at the foundation of your buildup before you start thinking about cams and turbos.

You should reconsider the 14b and 80e just for the tire size you will be running, nevermind the power you want to add. You will break everything if you put down a lot of power on big tires.

Yeah I plan on getting a finish line built 4l65e and if needed a 14 bolt out back... But for now just cam and tune... So a nelson tune will work ok?

I would definitely recommend Nelson for the tune. Everyone complains about the 10 bolt not holding up to big tires and such but I ran 37s and 4.88s and the stock g80 on my 2000 Silverado for 2 years before I sold the truck and was not easy on it and never had any issues with anything not holding up never once did I ever have a transmission issue either. Before I sold it I was planning on putting a cam in it and was recommended the 212/218 due to the setup I already had it appeared to be the best for what I was going for maybe this will help you out on your decision.

Nelson can tune whatever you want no problem.
