Alright, here's my situation. 2001 SCSB Z-71, 3:73, HPP3, 160 STAT, FLOWMASTERS, THROTTLE BODY SPACER, and I am putting LS1 electric fans on tonight. I want to get some more horse so I am running down in the low 15's and maybe even high 14's but the cash flow is a little low right now. Do you guys have any ideas to help me out? I was thinking about some headers, but I really don't know what kind to get. It seems like every name brand someone has on the website, so I don't know how to chose. If anyone has some suggestions, please help out. Part numbers would be great too on the headers. Also what is everyone running on their HPP3 on their shift points??? Any help would be awesome.
Pics will come soon but I don't know how to put them on here....

Lets see...
First off my shift points right now are 1st gear is +1. 2nd gear is +5 I believe. 3rd Gear is like +15. Not sure what 4th gear is. May want to try an aftermarket MAF.
I got my headers for cheap on www.truckperformance.com.
Trying taking your tailgate off when you run may knock off a few tenths.
May try a High flow intake.

If you are running stock airbox, I cut hole in front about the size of my fist
in left corner, (drimmel tool) I noticed an improvement. Try putting your shift points close to 5800 for 1-2 and 2-3. you can leave the 3-overdrive +0. Set RPM limit to 6200.
Try +2 on your 1-2 shift and +9 on your 2-3 shift and +0 on last shift.
I tried many differend settings and this worked best for me.
Settings for 3.73 Settings for 4.10
1-2 +2 1-2 +2
2-3 +9 2-3 +8
3-OD +0 3-OD +0
Remove tailgate & test.
I think you will be Pleased.

i have edelbrock headers (shorties) they seems to do the job but i think if i could do it over i would get long tube probably as&m long tube. (www.azseed-marine.com) i also have a hpp3 on my truck with 3.73 gears and i have my rev limiter at 6000 and i think i have 1-2 at +3, 2-3 at +7 thats all i adjusted i have never ran out 3rd gear. i shift out of 2nd at 84mph. i hope i have been of some help.

I'm looking at some TOG Headers btw. Tyburne Motorsports (Site Sponsor) has good prices on them and others.

for LT headers or mid length get one of the following:
- ASM's
- thorley
- FLP's
- TOG
you will have to have a custom weld job done for all of these except FLP's. they come with their own cats that bolt up to the flange on the muffler
