About the Yank is it as easy as putting a stall in a turbo 350. Never messed with a 4l60E.

You're right, I forgot to put a "and" in front of that. I was a little tired last night when I wrote that. I meant to say that "they won't void the warranty and are 50 state legal".

Headers, stall, and do the ram air mod on your stock airbox. Save a little more if need be and get the tune. Those mods will make a night and day difference in your trucks performance and will set you up for whatever you have planned later. Get a tranny cooler too. They are like $50 for a big one.

for the ram air mod: what pieces would you need. I know the duct stuff or whatever but what would you use at the bottom to collect the air.

If you do a search I think Y2K silverado has some great pics and instructions.
Basically you use a 4' hole saw to cut the bottom of the stock airbox. get some 4' piping and a dryer duct as well as some hose clamps. I used some aliminum tubing that can be rotated to make different bends, but havent hooked up the duct yet. I may do that tonight.
