Zippy I'm in Baton Rouge La.

Sierra crew. Thanks for the info. Stuff like that says a lot to Nelsons capability. I havent talked to eigthor Allen yet (Nelson, or Futral) so I havent decided for sure. However if Nelson can come within a few hp +/- than anyones dyno tune, it almost makes me want to keep that extra money for some lt's whenever they start making them for 4wd.

Thunder Racing is really close to you. You should go and visit them. Nothing can compare to a hands on tune.

Talk to Allan at Futral. You cant beat a dyno tune. I also believe Futral will street tune it also for less than the dyno tune is. I would call him and explore some options. A good tune can make or break your engine. The guys doing mail order ones are good, but I just couldnt see going that route if you are close enouhh to get it dyno tuned.

I went with Bryan's tune from pcmforless but like ranwalk said go to a tuner that is near you so you can have it tuned on the dyno. That was one of the reasons I went with Bryan; but keep in mind he travels all over the country to different shops so he may be near you too when you least expect. I have to say the thing that stands out with Bryan is his customer service after the fact. That is an important point to consider.

Yea, I gotta say that Bryan's customer service really is excellent...we did alot of R&D getting the 02 PCM to work for me, and he never charged me an extra cent (shipping multiple PCM's back in forth, tuning my 99 PCM, etc.) I eventually drove out to PA and he did a crank relearn for me and tuned it hands-on.

I received excellent customer service from Nelson too when I ordered my harness...quick response and delivery.

I'm all about customer service, but like everyone here I want the best for my baybe. I want a Nelson tune bad, but I think it may be better to go to Futral and get a street tune, or put it on the rollers. I saw where Nelson is coming to houston, so I may go that route. Thanks for the help keep the opinions coming. I'll make my decision sooner or later. lol

a little off topic but what is the difference between a street tune and a dyno tune? I have a mail order from nelson but if i would to go to him could he make it run better having the truck in front of him? it is only like 5hrs from where i live.

Street tune is when you drive the vehicle on the road and do the tuning vs tuning on a dyno. If you are only 15 minutes from Futral you would be crazy to go anywhere else. Alan will tune the truck until he is happy with it and you won't be dissapointed.

I think allen is awesome at tuning but its hard to beat a dyno tune. I would say if it was a supercharger/ turbo I might get the dyno tune but for what you have the Nelson tune will be perfect. If lator on you decide you want aforcedinduction or nitrous allen can send you retune. I bet the dyno tune doesn't include retunes.
