need some help

HI my transmission went our.... crap 4l60e so i am installing a new one. I was told by some friends to go ahead and put a stall converter in while it is out. It is a 2001 ext cab 4.8 with 4.10 gears. I was thinking of getting like a 2400 or 2600. Also i was told i needed to get the Diablo programmer to turn off torque management and it would see the converter slipping. Just wanted to get some input as I have to order this tomorrow. converter and programer over night. The motor is stock for now but i do plan on putting a cam in. It has the basic bolt ons as of now. thanks

I would go with something in the range of a 3000 stall converter. They are right about needing to remove the torque management, but the Diablo isn't the only way to do that.
It will run without any tuning just fine, but will of course be better with tuning if you would rather wait and feel out your options first.
Definantly do the converter while the trans is out though. I liked the TT3000 a lot when I had it.

thanks for the informaiton. I was just looking at the diablo because i could order from jegs and get it on sat when i am installing the tranny. Later i would like to get hptuners. It is a built tranny from monster motor sports. 3000 stall with 4.10 gears sounds like it would be fun..lol what would happen if i did not turn it off and waited to order a real program. Would i be able to drive it or no?
