When my truck gets about 100,000 miles on it, I want to get a 00-02 chevy single cab. I want to do a 6.0 swap. I will have headers, electric fans, 3" true duals w/ a x-pipe, stall, etc.
I'll be buying one from my dealer brand new. Should I...
Just buy a plain 6.0 and put a magnacharger on it with maybe 8-10lbs. of boost if possible. (maybe 212/218 cam and minor headwork)
Buy a 6.0 and go all out on the motor. (Stroke it to a 408 with a 216/220 cam, stage 2 or 3 heads, High-strength pistons, rings, etc.)
I want to do both! I don't know which one would be better. Do 408 strokers with the cam and heads I just listed put out a lot of low-end torque? If they do, then part of me wants to get the 408 and put a D-1SC procharger on it for some top-end. What do ya'll think?

Stroking it will def give you more lowend torque. If I had to choose I would go that route, it may not be the cheapest but if both are gonna make the same power then do it N/A then put on a blower when it gets boring.

how much power would I be putting to the ground w/ the 408 stroker? What if a procharger running ~10lbs. boost was put on it? I think it would be cool. A ton of low-end w/ a whole lot of top-end. It would have to be the ultimate truck (towing, track, street, & sound). With a 2600 stall, 4.10s, slicks and good traction would I be able to take a stock viper at the track? I don't want to use any Nitrous so, could I run like 12-14lbs. of boost safely? Remember this is in like 2-3 years from now, I'm gonna start saving next year, until then I'm gonna try to enjoy what I have!
