Default Need ls1 motor help

I know a little about the 4.8, 5.3 and 6.0. I'm not sure about the ls1 motors. I found a ls1 motor that came out of a 2000 ss. The guy who had it wrecked it and got a some water in it. The intake, etc... doesn't look hurt. But he tried to start it and the seal broke and a piston broke. It comes wire harness, headers, pump, etc. Doesn't come with a tranny. I can pick it up $500 bucks. Would this be a decent price? Could I use the intake an put it on a 5.3 or 6.0?

thanks

where is it at? if you dont take that i will

but as far as swapping the LS1 intake on to the trucks, not worth it. the truck intakes flow better than the LS1 intakes. if your gonna do that, might as well buy an LS6 intake. (correct me if im wrong on that statement)

i would buy this motor, put it on a stand for a while, build it the way you want and then throw it in your truck. just use all the truck accessories and harness and throw the block in there. TxSilverado did his like that (im pretty sure)

so it would be worth it even though the block isn't any good? what does a new block cost? 1k?

Not sure about the 2000 LS1 blocks but I know the first years 98,99's had extremely thin sleeves that could only take a hone job.
The later years I believe could take a small bore job.

If the piston tore up the sleeve I would probably pass.
