Arrow Need a Little Help with Single Replacement Muffler Choice please

I've noticed a lot of you have done a lot of nice mods to your trucks and was hoping you might have experience you could share with me for muffler chioce.

I have an '06 and want to chop off the stock OE V8 muffler and replace it with a single 3" in / 3" out muffler.

I'd like to find a deep tone, louder style muffler, that's not too obnoxious and not too raspy, but definitely not one that's too quiet. I want to keep the single muffler design and will be keeping the cats for now.

Have you tried the single Hooker Aero Chamber muffler on your's? Is it the deepest and loudest without being obnoxiously loud, or way too quiet?

Or...what single muffler have you heard or tried that might fit the bill that sounds deep and fairly loud?

Any sound clips of an aftermarket single muffler?

Many Thanks!!!

PS. Do you have any parts you might like to sell? Let the mods begin!

Hooker Areo Chambers are nice. They have that nice subtle raspy-ness your talking about with a deep tone in the lower rpms.

or Magnaflow is always good. Not too much sound at idle but sounds great when you get on it.

I'm partial to my Gibson set-up myself. 1 in and 1 out both at 3''.

How about some good sound clips please?

Idling, reving it up, normal driving, and hitting it hard going down the road.

That would really be awesome for those of us trying to chose a new muffler!

Many Thanks!

I'm thinking a 3" in/out dynomax bullet would be pretty cool.

I guess in this subject most everyone is partial to experience. So heres another. Everyone rags on flowmaster, oh well. I would recommend why I have personally is 3in 3 out BORLA PRO XS. Nice and quiet with no cab resonation. Will yell once u get on yet, I nice hearty tone, No sounds clips yet though.

Take a look at this, https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=351640 I saw this a while back and kinda liked the spintech muffler. remember that most of these guys are running no cats. I want to go the same route as you 3" single in/out. Maybe you should buy the spintech ditch the cats and put up an exhaust clip haha!

Best bang for the buck with good sound and performance would have to be........ 3in/out Dynomax bullet!!
