my dad is a chevy dealer and i have driven everything from a 6.0 8.1 to the duramax and by far the duramax is my favorite motor of them all. <img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" />

Propane is propane. It is a fuel. Nitrous oxide is an oxidizer and is NOT a fuel. Propane can be burned at room temp and is flammable. Nitrous oxide is inert at normal atmospheric pressure and not flammable. Propane is metered and constantly injected (different concentrations effect performance/economy differently) while nitrous oxide is used momentarily only.

Propane is used in many applications due to the "high octane" effect it can provide. In diesels it is added in small proportions to aid in a complete burn and increases efficiency. When added in larger quantities the effect is additive with regards to HP but efficiency is sacrificed. You are simply adding more fuel and supplementing this with more boost (air) makes more power...and still the added "octane" of the propane help keep things in the combustion chamber together.

While the principle of injecting a gas is similar the way they work is very different.

13's are not impossible but they are not easily found...12's will definitely require some internal component strengthening to reliably hold that power. (Hell...I could squeeze a few eleven sec passes for sure, but my new motor isn't ready yet...you catch my drift)
