Are all factory 6 liter blocks iron or were some aluminum blocks produced for a few years?

i believe the 05' vette is the first 6.0 liter aluminum block. the only aluminum block gen III small block's i'm aware of are the 5.3 and the 5.7 (with the exception of the C5-R block).

You are correct. But the 6.0 C5 alum block is not exactly the same as the iron ones as I understand and I don't remember what the differance was.
