My dad bought a 2001 silverado 8.1L dooley. He said he put the wrong key in the ignition and after that the truck wouldn't start until he waited a little while. I know this is the passlock or theftlock or something but ever since then the truck will die while he drives down the road. He said its just at random times. I think its happened like 3 or 4 times in the past week. Should I try the re-learn process on it or does it sound like the dealership needs to flash the computer or reset something? Has anyone ever heard of this?

 

The 8.1 is a big engine . He might be randomly running out of gas .
Try adding another gas tank and a 10,000 GPM fuel pump!
