hey guys im in the process of changing my knock sensors, and they are completely corroded. we got one out,but the other fell apart and just the threads are stuck in there. i was gonna take off the valley cover but cant find a gasket at autozone and ,was wonderin if i could just use rtv on the valley cover instaed of a gasket.

Post a pic so I can help you better and tell you. As for the gasket, it's probably all cracked and maybe not reusable. Just run a small bead of rtv around it and that should work. If not hit up a NAPA or a dealer tomorrow for one.

Both of my gaskets fell apart too when I was changing one of the knock sensors, had to get a new knock sensor harness, luckily a member nearby had an extra.
The gaskets are reusable, however, when I first put my blower on Tootall and I used black RTV on the gaskets to keep out any moisture... but it also bonds pretty well to the rubber gaskets and wouldn't let go, we took a screwdriver to it and it came out in pieces.

I could be wrong, but I am not sure they sell just the gaskets, might end up having to buy a whole new harness. I got mine used for $20, so I don't think they are all that much. Good luck with getting that knock sensor out, sounds like a bia
